Enrolling in CAYSA

CAYSA accepts applications for new members all year round. For more information, or to schedule an audition, please call (360) 754-3951 or email us at info@caysa.net.

We would like to invite you to audition for a position in one of our three symphony orchestras. This is an opportunity for you to use skills learned at school to learn and perform music as a group. In addition, many rehearsals include time with a private instructor of their instrument.

Auditions are by appointment. There are several audition days available in the Spring at Yenney Music Store on Harrison Ave. The audition is informal and fairly simple: play a favorite song, a scale learned in class, and try a new song. You may schedule a ten minute audition or get more information by calling Robert Pendergrast at 754-3951.

The Youth Symphony members, comprised of about 60 students, are at the advanced high school level and perform original concert repertoire. Robert Pendergrast conducts the Youth Symphony.

The Junior Symphony members, comprised of about 40 students, are middle school/beginning high school level and combine strings, winds, and percussion to perform arrangements of symphony music. Shawn Meloy conducts the Junior Symphony.

The String Philharmonic members, comprised of about 40 students, are at the advanced elementary/beginning middle school level, and include violins, violas, cellos, basses, and harps. Margret Brank conducts the String Philharmonic.

All rehearsals begin in September and continue through May every Monday that there is school.

Concerts for the 2006-2007 season are scheduled for November 18, 2006, and March 3, 2007 at 7:00 p.m., and May 20, 2007 at 3:00 p.m.. at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts.

Tuition is $240.00 per year and is payable by October 3rd. A $40.00 tuition deposit is due at the audition. It will be refunded if you are not accepted into the symphony. Tuition scholarships are available for students who need them.

We hope you will be able to take advantage of this wonderful musical opportunity.
